So I'm still on FB (there are reasons) and every now and then someone comes onto the Discworld pages I follow and say things like
"Hey I saw they made a tv show about the Watch, is it any good?"
Ahhh the rage

In letzter Zeit muss ich sehr oft an dieses Zitat denken:
#TerryPratchett #Discworld #GuardsGuards #LordVetinari #CaptainVimes #CityWatch
Vimes imitating Dirty Harry, but with a small, fire-breathing dragon is one of the best images in all of Discworld.
"The Librarian gave him a banana."
This book is perfect. No notes.
Cyoar, I've never seen Vetenari so flustered. In all the books I've read with him as a major character, he's always so collected, even in the mist dire if circumstances. If this really is his *first* appearance, it's wild to see just how much he changes over time (Much like Vimes)
I can't express how much I love the Elucidated Bretheren. Every scene with them is a delight; an absolute highlight of every reading session.
Sybil! Honestly, I should've guessed she'd appear in this book what with all the dragons and such, but a part of me just assumed she wouldn't appear until a later book.
I just realized: is this book the first time Patrician Vetinari is introduced? I know the patrician of Ankh-Morpork has been introduced as early as the Color of Magic, but he was just called "The Patrician"
However, all of that being said, Carrot--a character I like perfectly fine, but never enjoyed as much as the others--is terrific in this book. I love seeing him as this fresh faced do-gooder with a passion to do the right thing completely at odds with the other cynical members of the City Watch
