Today at 8:22am marks the 26th anniversary of the Glenbrook Rail Accident in the blue mountains. as a survivor I'd like to pay tribute to the 7 passengers who lost their lives. Train chaos in Sydney (well everywhere between Parramatta, Penrith and Richmond)
no trains running between those stations due to several power outages after this arvos storm.
even the light rail that I caught earlier is now out of commission due to then not charging...
no replacement buses, as seems the norm these days, to get from Parramatta to Penrith via 3 buses is estimated at 3 hrs...

@MattHatton Already a hit and miss affair without it. I remember when I used to live there (over 20 years ago) the frequent announcement almost daily on the commute home was, "The 5:11 train to Berowra due on platform 3 is cancelled for today only. ShittyRail apologises for any inconvenience caused".

The only downside TBH is this is the first day this week I’ve left work on time. Like I actually don’t mind being late home, I do enjoy trains, and it’s giving me appropriate #the90sareback flashbacks to when similar shit happened all the time. I’m on a (down shore) train #cityrail that has been stopped at Wynyard for a few minutes. In the middle of peak hour. Some We Funk #wefunk in my ears so I have not been hearing the announcements but then randomly some people get off and others take their place. I also dropped my 7-yo phone down to 3G because it works better than crowded 4G. #ripSteve Truly loving and living my best life. Pic unrelated.

There was a medical emergency at around 7:50pm at Wolli Creek. Train was delayed for about 30 min. The train then terminated at Kingsgrove, instead of its original terminal stop Revesby.
