AGI - Stellantis sta effettuando un richiamo volontario di alcune automobili prodotte tra il 2023 e il 2026, a causa di un potenziale rischio di incendio. A essere interessate sono circa 700.000 auto ibride nel mondo secondo quanto indicato dal sito dell'Autorità federale tedesca dei trasporti (KBA).
Alcuni veicoli Peugeot, Citroen, DS Automobiles, Opel/Vauxhall, Lancia, Alfa Romeo, Jeep e Fiat potrebbero essere stati assemblati con una distanza insufficiente tra il tubo del filtro antiparticolato benzina e la coppa di protezione del polo del Belt Starter Generator (BSG) a 48V.
Dettagli del problema e intervento
In condizioni di umidità, spiega Stellantis, esiste la possibilità che questa distanza insufficiente e un eventuale contatto tra questi componenti possano portare a infiltrazioni d'acqua, generando un arco elettrico, che potrebbe innescare un evento termico, come il surriscaldamento. Nello scenario peggiore, ciò potrebbe comportare un potenziale rischio di incendio nel vano motore.
Stellantis sta contattando i proprietari dei veicoli interessati, invitandoli a rivolgersi al proprio concessionario per fissare un appuntamento. L'intervento correttivo prevede la sostituzione della coppa di protezione del polo del belt starter generator (BSG) a 48V con una dotata di maggiore isolamento. Stellantis is conducting a voluntary recall of some cars produced between 2023 and 2026 due to a potential fire risk. Approximately 700,000 hybrid vehicles worldwide are affected, according to the information provided by the German Federal Transport Authority (KBA) website.

Some vehicles from Peugeot, Citroen, DS Automobiles, Opel/Vauxhall, Lancia, Alfa Romeo, Jeep, and Fiat may have been assembled with insufficient distance between the gasoline particulate filter tube and the protection cup of the Belt Starter Generator (BSG) 48V motor.

Problem Details and Repair
According to Stellantis, in humid conditions, there is a possibility that this insufficient distance and any potential contact between these components could lead to water ingress, generating an electrical arc, which could trigger a thermal event, such as overheating. In the worst-case scenario, this could pose a potential fire risk in the engine compartment.

Stellantis is contacting vehicle owners, inviting them to contact their dealer to schedule an appointment. The corrective action involves replacing the protection cup of the belt starter generator (BSG) 48V with one featuring greater insulation. Furthermore, the distance between the gasoline particulate filter tube and the BSG will be checked and adjusted if necessary. The problem is resolved in the workshop.
