Of the perverse effect of #generativeAI: complete loss of #trust on everything you see, sunk time verifying every piece of #socialmedia #news, and the death of #citizenjournalism.
I still don't know whether this picture is AI generated. I wasted time finding the source, only to wonder if SyriaNow is actually linked to #AlJazeera or not.
Basically being exhausted now, I have the impression #AI killed the ability for people to organise & fight back by poisoning both #media structure & #content.

#Journalism can practice things OK but is too often driven by a #commercial #container relaying different commercial objectives and commercial ideals - more than personal 1st person forms of #reporting or #live #talk.

Citizen journalism involves more everyday #humanity collaborating.

#CitizenJournalism are citizens themselves as an #alternative and #activist form of reporting, functioning outside of #mainstream #media & #institutions.

A ground level response (not always in person but can be online via audio chat also)

#CitizenJournalism has been great for taking best bits from people reactions or as best examples of good / bad bits in life and *importantly* our feelings...

Feelings, the system doesn't want (so it's a great service #CitizenJournalism gives + we need feelings)
