@kenwhite.bsky.social Respectfully, I've seen a lot of this sort of talk today, and to me it feels like both-sides-ism and an internalization of the crap Utah governor Cox is mouthing in order to get folks to forget that this is #maga on maga, #cishet on cishet, #white on white violence and that #charliekirk died for your right to see the #epstein files. Too, vastly less important than "the algorithm" is the complete abdication of traditional media's duty to deny the spotlight to know liars and to fact check. And going even farther back that abdication is probably an inevitable consequence of the death of the fairness doctrine and the rise of fascist infotainment in the Rush Limbaugh / Bill O'Reilly mold. Without these precursors the "algorithm problem" wouldn't exist.
