AGI - "Premiate l'apparenza, al buio la maestranza". È lo striscione che ha aperto la manifestazione dei Contro David, organizzata dal collettivo "Siamo ai titoli di coda" e dal sindacato USB proprio davanti agli ingressi degli studi di Cinecittà, dove stasera si celebra la consegna dei David di Donatello.
Mentre sul red carpet sfilano i grandi nomi del cinema italiano, a pochi metri di distanza decine di lavoratori — tra cui scenografi, pittori di scena, scrittori e montatori — hanno dato vita a un flash mob silenzioso, posando con maschere bianche sul volto davanti a un backdrop simbolico.
Il significato delle maschere
"La maschera significa l'invisibilità di chi costituisce le fondamenta del cinema italiano, ma anche la ricattabilità: oggi alzare la testa in questo settore significa rischiare il posto", ha spiegato Vincenzo Lauricella (USB). "Chiediamo diritti e dignità per chi rende possibile questa eccellenza, partendo dal rinnovo di un contratto collettivo fermo al 1999. È assurdo fare festa dimenticando chi lavora ogni giorno".
La protesta del collettivo
Dura la posizione di Dario Indelicato, del collettivo "Siamo ai titoli di coda": "Speravamo in un segno di solidarietà da parte di chi stasera è dentro, ma abbiamo capito che dobbiamo lottare per noi stessi. La condotta politica degli ultimi due anni ha devastato il settore e ora non ci bastano più le parole, pretendiamo i fatti".
Il vuoto contrattuale
Al suo fianco, una lavoratrice della post-produzione sottolinea il vuoto normativo: "Siamo migliaia, ma senza una piattaforma contrattuale adeguata non risultano almeno 180 professionalità. Non veniamo rinnovati da 26 anni: in questo senso ci sentiamo invisibili".
Le reazioni politiche
Al presidio hanno partecipato anche i rappresentanti delle opposizioni. Per il PD, Matteo Orfini ha ribadito che la crisi è stata "prodotta dai provvedimenti del governo", mentre il vicepresidente del M5S, Riccardo Ricciardi, ha accusato l'esecutivo di considerare la cultura "non come un lavoro, ma come un ambito in cui occupare poltrone".

While the red carpet is lined with Italy’s leading filmmakers, just a few meters away, dozens of workers—including set designers, scenic painters, writers, and editors—organized a silent flash mob, posing with white masks in front of a symbolic backdrop.
The meaning of the masks
“The mask symbolizes the invisibility of those who form the foundations of Italian cinema, but also the vulnerability: today, raising your head in this sector means risking your job,” explained Vincenzo Lauricella (USB). “We demand rights and dignity for those who make this excellence possible, starting with the renewal of a collective contract that has been frozen since 1999. It is absurd to celebrate while forgetting those who work every day.”
The collective’s protest
Dario Indelicato, of the “Siamo ai titoli di coda” collective, stated: “We hoped for a sign of solidarity from those inside tonight, but we realized we have to fight for ourselves. The political conduct of the past two years has devastated the sector, and now words are no longer enough; we demand action.”
The contractual void
Alongside them, a post-production worker emphasized the regulatory void: “We are thousands, but without an adequate contractual platform, at least 180 professions are not recognized. We haven’t been renewed for 26 years: in this sense, we feel invisible.”
Political reactions
Representatives from the opposition parties also participated in the rally. For the PD, Matteo Orfini reiterated that the crisis was “caused by the government’s measures,” while Five Star’s Vice President, Riccardo Ricciardi, accused the executive of considering culture “not as a job, but as an area to occupy positions.”
