I love when they give Chu Wanning the time and space to feel safe and loved, and therefore heal.
He built his walls so tall and sturdy than only a persistent dumbass like Mo Ran was able to penetrate them, and also making him be gentle enough to hold the delicate self-esteem of Chu Wanning and nurture it with love, compassion, patience and understanding to the point where Chu Wanning finally lets himself BE himself.
To open up after being secluded and alone for so long can take its toll, and it must incredibly difficult for Chu Wanning to trust, not only others, but himself. (Like tell me about it ๐)
I love seeing a thin-faced Chu Wanning who is more in tune with his wants and needs, and can give and receive love.
