Привет, сегодня поговорим, как установить ChromeDriver без костылей и ошибок. Если автоматическая загрузка актуальной версии chromedriver (или драйвера для другого браузера) не предусмотрена. Или не работает, и мы при запуске UI-тестов получаем ошибку о том: 1. Что у нас отсутствует chromedriver 2. Не совпадает версия chromedriver и chrome (также может относиться к любому другому браузеру и его драйверу) Скачиваем соответствующую версию chromedriver - https://googlechromelabs.github.io/chrome-for-testing/#stable На Linux

Oh. Excellent. All my tests are failing.

Or I mean -- as the report reports it at the moment -- "some are failing and some are just defects oops it's all failing actually".

Regardless, the reason isn't mine (this time, luckily) but rather due to either chrome or chromedriver having some issues with DevToolsActivePort or some junk.

Or I mean to be honest it could also be the firewall/antivirus/whatever that's causing that, but given that pretty much nothing has changed except the Chrome for Testing -version, it's the main suspect at this time.

Can't do anything about it right now so.. eh ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I dunno if this would be a good place to ask, but does anyone happen to know why is it that when sometimes I run Selenium on C# with ChromeDriver headless on my Windows 11 machine, it keeps opening this friggin weird blank window on the screen? It's not even really interactable, it just is there and if I try to click it it'll click whatever is behind it so it basically just blocks my screen and doesn't do anything else. I'm using the Beta channel of the Chrome for Testing and it doesn't happen every time, but most of the time.

Have you ever encountered this? Did you find a solution? I have absolutely no idea why this keeps happening.

Did your Selenium WebDriver ChromeDriver just break? Fix it by adding --remote-allow-origins=* temporarily. Upgrade to Selenium 4.8.2 once it's available.
