The christmas cake has been inexpertly covered with home made marzipan (50/50 almonds/icing sugar, bind with egg white and a little rosewater). We’ll leave it to dry for a few days before covering with (shop bought!) fondant. We’ve found some cookie cutters that will hopefully make brightly coloured 3D fondant trees to sit atop the iced cake. #ChristmasCake #festive

Holly leaves across the opposite corner. Finished it off with a swathe of gold stars across the middle, just because. (They came in the same pack as the red balls I got for the holly berries).

I use ready to roll fondant icing. Much better than the rock hard snow scenes of royal icing that was all that was available during my childhood - though it was even chance that it was the crunchy silver balls that made your teeth hurt!

Christmas Cake ist fertig 😍 eigentlich käme über das Marzipan noch eine Zuckerschicht, da streike ich aber.
Den kleinen Kuchen habe ich gestern fertig gemacht, die großen dürfen noch etwas ziehen.
Und der Geschmack- soooo lecker! Und auch hier habe ich wieder tolles Trockenobst von #1001Frucht verwendet .
