8-Bit Christmas (2021) Neil Patrick Harris stars as a middle aged father retelling the story of him and his friends trying to acquire the latest hot video game when he was a kid. this film follows the meandering misadventure/coming of age format like A Christmas Story. In fact there are several nods to the film. Harris does a great job in the role being the sort of sage storyteller. TBH Harris is quite likable in most roles. Critics didn’t like it that much but I really do feel that they probably didn’t get it. It can be quite humorous at times and other times not but really it’s about the coming of age theme.
