(Agenzia Vista) Frankfurt, 19 marzo 2026 “Il Consiglio della Bce è determinato ad assicurare che l'inflazione si stabilizzi sul target del 2% nel medio termine, a dispetto dei rischi associati alla crisi in Medioriente ed alle pesanti ripercussioni dei prezzi dell'energia. La guerra in Medioriente ha reso le prospettive economiche significativamente più incerte, creando rischi al rialzo per l'inflazione e rischi al ribasso per la crescita economica. Il conflitto avrà un impatto sostanziale sull'inflazione. L'economia si è confermata resiliente negli ultimi trimestri e le aspettative sui prezzi si confermano ben ancorate. La guerra in Iran ha già avuto impatto sui redditi reali e sulla fiducia e potrebbe essere ancora più grave”, così la Presidente della Bce Christine Lagarde. The conflict will have a substantial impact on inflation. The economy has proven resilient in recent quarters and inflation expectations remain well anchored. Another case of one law for the elite & another for the rest of us.

Christine Lagarde is paid €140k as board member of the Bank of International Settlements, in addition to her European Central Bank salary, while 'normal' ECB employees are banned from getting additional income from other work.

As you can imagine the staff at the ECB are not very impressed; not least because other BIS board members do not take the pay, or see it offset against their salary!
