If choosing between a sword and shield, what would I prefer?

No contest. In my youth, I was a skilled foil fencer (I competed at the Jr Olympics & the NCAAs). In the SCA (I've since GAFIAted) I learned to wear a sword with no thought. And now I'm learning to wield a katana inTangSooDo.

What are some hills that I would die on in real life, related to books or stories?

I'm ready to take a stand about all of the book banning that's been going on--but while I'm willing to be arrested, I'm not willing to die. I can do more good if I'm still around to make good trouble.

Do I have any characters that are scrapping for a large fight or a little argument?

At Balticon, I read aloud a story this weekend (Two Horses in the antho TV Gods: Summer Programming) that's entirely 2 characters bickering, broken up when they have a sword and knife fight with some brigands.
