My mother has a hand vacuum. It stopped charging. She bought a new one, on the assumption that it would work just fine with the existing charging station. (same model, but without co-packaged charging dock, which was no longer available as a set)

They actually produced two different versions, so they could save money on the two tiny metal contacts at the bottom.
