I had this wild hypothesis that they had clever CCF (Counter-CloudFlare) cost-saving technology that ensured that #ChilternRailways Wi-Fi only worked on the days that the rest of the Internet didn't. (-:
Hmm. Another wild thought occurs:
#CloudFlare didn't manage to take everything down. Glasgow.Social was still running.
Maybe CloudFlare left too much of the Internet still running and the safety mechanisms stopped Chiltern's Wi-Fi from switching into working mode.
Whenever I use a service, say booking a ticket with #chilternRailways and get to checkout and find 'pay by card' means by PayPal, I always question whether I'm on the right website. Surely a professional company wouldn't use #PayPal ?
Then there's the "by using this you're OK with PayPal's privacy policy" and "choose another way" but guess what the other way is: hey, you can pay with PayPal instead.
hrmmmph.
