#Allotment Postcard #39 is up… this just being some waffle from after the weekend away for PyCon. There is a bit of a #chilli fruit round-up at about 6:09 — though not a comprehensive one.
Slowly catching up!
Managed to knock up four little jars of pickled jalapeños whilst making dinner. Not bad going.

We have two of these plants at the #allotment, with one in the greenhouse, and one in the polytunnel, plus another at home in the porch (an overwintered but somewhat neglected plant.)

Harvesting chillies. Today, we gathered another incredible batch. Remember, though—always wear gloves when handling chillies. A friend thought he could go without, and now his hands are feeling the heat! To soothe the burn, a quick wash with washing-up liquid (no water) followed by Aloe Vera does wonders. 🌶️

I've been growing chilli plants since February and they've been thriving! Now that autumn is here and the temperature is dropping below 10°C at night, I've decided to bring some of the plants into my bedroom to share my space with them. And look how well they're doing! Even though the season is almost over, they've had a boost and the plant is full of ripe chillies!
