I had to spray paint some woodwork that I'm finishing up, but I'm the only adult in today.
Naturally, I put down a canvas and was rewarded when my four-year-old produced this nice piece. He calls it "A satellite video of a huge wave going around the world."

I love watching my kids make art. There is a joy in his act of creation that is hard to get from people of any other age. My son is not trying to paint something specific.
He is simply engaging in the joy of mixing colors and making something from when there was nothing.
In those bold swirls and patterns, I find something really beautiful.
