The senior pay rate quoted ($30 per hr, with diploma) as an early child care specialist is about the same as you'll get paid to make coffee.

And when I say "about the same" I mean "it's on the lower end of the range".

(It's easy to for an employer to say there's a shortage of a particular skillset, but take a look at the salary level and trends and you'll see that the actual market settings are firmly at "nah, we're fine" much more often than not.)
