The second last day of our 2022 trip. Tapis fell hopelessly in love with our hosts' Berger Blanc Suisse (like Julia on the balcony above), we were in Chardonnay (with Chardonnay), and there was delicious cheese. The highlight in Tournus is the Church of St. Philibert, probably the oldest Romanesque large church in France—and very very beautiful.

And now we are in Tournus, an underrated little town on the Saône. The Rudel thoroughly enjoyed their walk along the river and through the town and are now suitably tired.

Our 2022 trip through France is slowly coming to an end. We said goodbye to Sainte Colombe, but only briefly, because we were back there in 2023 and 2024, and we'll probably stop by again this year. In 2022, we fought our way through the endless traffic jams in Lyon (where you can see many beautiful buildings!), visited the Collégiale Notre-Dame-des-Marais de Villefranche-sur-Saône, and reached our final destination, Tounus.

And we can continue our tour through France. Today is mountain day. First we walked through the vineyards, then Ici climbed to the summit on foot, while Tapis, Tiffi, and the chronicler were transported there. It's always beautiful here.

Farewell to Flayosc. Fortunately, it wasn't a long journey to our next destination. Now we are in this little house in Sainte-Colombe below the Mont Ventoux. The Rudel loves it there because you can walk straight into the vineyards—or, if you like, up to the Ventoux, although the chronicler and the dogs preferred to take the car.

And today there was actually a bit more action. We visited a dam, or rather its remains, the Barrage de Malpasset. Very impressive, the debris is as big as houses! And Tiffi, the old lady, bravely took the walk despite the heat.
