AGI - È salito a 19 morti e 17 feriti il bilancio della violenta esplosione avvenuta in una centrale elettrica nello Stato del Chhattisgarh, nell’India centrale. La deflagrazione ha interessato una caldaia dell’impianto situato a Singhitarai, gestito dalla Vedanta Ltd, sussidiaria del gruppo industriale guidato dal miliardario Anil Agarwal.
Secondo quanto ricostruito dalle autorità locali, cinque operai sono deceduti istantaneamente al momento dello scoppio, mentre altre quattordici persone sono spirate nelle ore successive a causa della gravità delle lesioni riportate. Il numero delle vittime è raddoppiato rispetto alle prime stime diffuse subito dopo il disastro, che indicavano nove decessi.
