Sharing a moment with Chesterman Beach, just outside of Tofino. I was born in town, and my mom’s ashes are out here too. It was real nice to sit and commune with the energy here.

I didn’t have the best relationship with my mom, and we weren’t talking when she died. I thought coming out here a few years ago would open a dialogue with her, but she’s not here, and wasn’t today either.

If she’s moved on, maybe it’s time I did the same. This is my home, ashes be damned. And it feels like it used to.
