Getting near the end of this training block for Chester Half in just over 10 days and Manchester 10k the weekend after. Was out with the family all day again so was late again when I managed to put by running gear on and was glad I chose my FuelCell Elite 4’s for this tempo run as the definitely helped my feet today. 40 minutes on total , 10 minutes warm up, 20 minutes tempo and 5 minutes cool down. #running #temporun #temporunning #chesterhalfmarathon #manchester10k #adidasrunning #oldguysrule
It wasn’t the best time to do a threshold run mid afternoon when the sun was probably at its highest which showed in today’s threshold run. Today I allotted a 1 hr 50 minute run with the first hour at easy pace followed by 45 minutes a little faster but keeping hr below zone 4 then completing the run with 5 minutes cool down jog. Sunday long run testing my race shoes out for Chester Half in 4 weeks time. Decided to forego my usual zone 2 run and split the run into 2 parts, first 11km keeping hr zone 2/ aerobic threshold and the next 5km in zone 3 and lower limit of zone 4.
