First tomato harvest of 2026

Found them hidden under the leaves of the pumpkin.

It seems like I'm growing 6 different tomatoes on the balcony.

Went to visit a friend for the weekend and they gave me a large amount of cherry tomatoes, as well as quite a few pears (I helped them net their pear tree as birds were starting to nibble them).

Once home over the last 2 days I have made 2/3 of the cherry tomatoes semi-dried with a combo of air fryer and sun drying, and the other 1/3 has made 1 bottle of tomato sauce. The pears about 1/2 I pureed with some strawberries and made fruit leather. All have turned out delicious! I've never done any of these things before either. Stoked.

End of season haul!  🍅

The plants actually still contain a few dozen tomatoes that haven't started ripening or finished growing, as well as flowers and buds. Some of the plants are starting to die off, though, and this is the last batch aside from a handful that may still ripen if it doesn't freeze.
