Odious though it be to cross-link to LinkedIn, I'm going to succumb in order to point to my commencement remarks. Hoping a few #ChemSky folks might find them worth the read... 🧪 www.linkedin.com/posts/christ...

Commencement Address to the Undergraduate, Masters and Doctoral Degree Recipients of the Department of Chemistry, University of Illinois, May 17, 2026 | Christopher Cramer

No doubt Chemistry at Illinois will post a video at some point, but I offer here a copy of my commencement remarks for those who may be interested to read them. It was a privilege to deliver them today while wearing University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign doctoral regalia, the medal of a Distinguished McKnight University Professor from the University of Minnesota, and a lapel pin from UL Research Institutes. I've been fortunate to professionally associate with these three great institutions, and I wish those who earned their degrees today equally good fortune in their own futures.

This paper from Lukas Gooßen's group is so good I just want to read it again. Logically designing the rapid-activation precatalyst [Pd(1-MeNAP)TFA2] & various testing (I would have very much liked comparisons with Buchwald G4, but hey) #chemsky onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/...

I had the great opportunity to present some of our group's recent work at @[email protected]. Thank you to @[email protected] and Stephen Burley for inviting me and to all that took the time to attend. #ChemicalProteomics #ChemPro #Presenting #Science #ChemSky
Chemistry friends, what is your understanding of the responsible compounds for 'new car smell'? I have been under the impression it was vinyl chloride but now that I think about it, that doesn't make a ton of sense #chemsky #chemchat
Some thoughts I have had on the idea of ideas, as applied to science! Published in this month's @[email protected]. #chemsky www.chemistryworld.com/opinion/impl...

There’s a huge difference between undergrad research and letting students follow AI chemistry experiments. Believe me - I’ve seen chem students use current AI models. #chemsky
