Last night we went to Timbl's interview at the #CheltLitFest on his memoir, This is for Everyone. It was both sad and evidence of courage with his devotion to openness in our little land of Web.

The book tour has evidently been exhausting. Whatever neurological event he's going through with the physical difficulty of speaking and his occasional aphasia, his brain is still there and his sense of humour.

At #CheltLitFest, briefly, for Martin Parr's talk. Bought the book after he signed it and we exchanged the only words we have ever had which is Thank you, and Cheers, though he did prefix it this time with "Oh, I can spell that".

This is remarkably special for me, less for him I suspect.

Apologies to Kate Mosse for having to leave her interview early yesterday evening at the #CheltLitFest but we had to get to the Richard Ayoade with Bob Mortimer event. As she said at the beginning it was a bad time to be on.

It was an excellent interview and a lot of it confirmed what I thought was important to her in writing, reclaiming the importance of women in history.
