Spring is suddenly approaching fast . Which means I should post all those beautiful frosty morning pictures before everyone is in ice cream frenzy (also a sort of frosty but a different kind).
One thing I love about these late winter morning walks is that I can warm up my reddened fingers on the warm chawan.
Oh yes, I do have other chawan, too! And as diversity in ceramics brings joy, so do people.
I am a bit afraid about what todays elections in Germany will bring. I hope that empathy and politics, that don’t support the rich, white men, will win. Alas.
Trying to distract myself with matcha. That will help. Hopefully.
Lunchbreqks are better when spent in the forest. Honestly it makes such difference to just sit down for a cup of tea and enjoy the sun and the light. I feel the most mentally stable in a February for as long as I can remember.
Soaking up every ray of sun I can get get until they are not so scarce anymore.
So this year is for recovering and rest, and one thing is to take my du days off. No to do list, just things and activities that I enjoy and that are for recharging. And one thing that does the job pretty well is to search for that perfect place to have a matcha. The more miss the better.
I also got myself some equipment to identify different mosses, but the only thing I identified so far is that it’s been ages since I studied them and have no idea. But for a Sunday that’s more than enough I think.
The early mornings with frost and sunshine get rarer from year to year. Especially so, when it’s the weekend and I get all the time to roam.
I truly adore those early morning walks. All the world adorned in tiny crystals that scatter the light and color everything pastel with tiny rainbows added.
It’s perfect for making a cup of delicious, hot tea.
My trusty essentials for an outdoor matcha.

- Travel Chasen sized Chasenaoshi
- Chashaku
- Sieve
- Spoon for sieving that I found in one of my boxes full of trinkets . Apparently I bought it ages ago and now it fits perfectly for the job of easy sieving and I couldn’t be happier. It’s also small which is perfect for hikes.
