Why do people think Anne Hathaway is "SUCH A GOOD SINGER"??

She's not bad — like obviously she has the ability — but it's nothing REMARKABLE.
It's absolutely average.
(Comparing her vocally to Lady Gaga is just absurd and shows utter ignorance of actual vocal performance.)

Shoulda got Charlotte Church to play Mother Mary.

Also, no I have not watched the movie and no I will not, but these songs do NOT sound like they'd translate into "live performance" very well at all. There's so much vocal layering - even when it's a "single line" - the phrases are spliced with no space between them so there's actually no time to BREATHE… But what do I fucking know. I'm not famous, I'm not a movie star, so I don't know anything about music or singing or any of that shit.
