As I post #Easter memes this week, I do not wish to “Passover” my Jewish friends.

Chag Pesach Sameach! #HappyPassover!

Made my first matzo of the year. (Spouse and I are not Jewish but the spouse loves matzo.)

Used an open wood flame and a steel pan and I did it inside 18 minutes.

#ChagPesachSameach

I meant to send this after sundown last night, but Chag Pesach Sameach to all my Jewish friends on Fedi!

# 1/7

Joyeuse Pessah !

# 1/7

The stories we tell ourselves are powerful. On Passover, Jewish people around the world tell the story of liberation, of an escape from servitude to freedom, from bitter darkness to the light.

# 2/7

In the Passover story, we learn that the moment the Israelites are liberated is just the beginning of a long journey, one that is full of trials and tests. It takes longer than they could have imagined and is full of complaining, doubting, and even wanting to go back to slavery in Egypt.

# 3/7

For those wandering the desert, the responsibility inherent in freedom is sometimes harder to bear than the suffering of enslavement.

# 4/7

For the Israelites, gaining freedom isn’t the end of the story but the beginning of a real reckoning. They are forced to ask themselves: What does it mean to be free at last? What does it mean to use that free will? With autonomy comes duty to ourselves and to the world around us.

# 5/7

The Passover story can teach us many lessons, and this year we are asking ourselves: What does it mean to build a future grounded in collective liberation, a future where freedom for some does not come at the expense of others?

# 6/7

These are not easy questions, and they demand that we think deeply about our responsibility for one another, about the possibility of creating a community and a society in which we are all connected to one another by bonds of mutual responsibility, solidarity, and care.

# 7/7

This year, as the bombardment of Gaza continues and the hostages remain trapped in captivity, let us remember the responsibility inherent in true freedom and reaffirm our commitment to fight for collective liberation.

Happy Passover! Chag Pesach Sameach !

My nursing agency just sent out a Happy Easter email to everyone. I replied, "You do realize it's still Passover, right? Chag Pesach sameach!”

Maybe they'll get the message.
