A lot of you have probably heard of Nicholas Chapel because he wrote that excellent article debunking the origins of the Kybalion, "The Kybalion's New Clothes." He got a lot of attention for that piece, but it turns out that Mr. Chapel is also a brilliant ceremonial magician and IT security person.
I had the pleasure of interviewing him for my #podcast back in 2021, and it's an episode that anybody can enjoy.

One of the main reasons that #Incense is used in #ritual is that most of the inhabitants Spirit World HATE the smell of Humans.
Also, using the right #fragrance makes the Spirit more willing to cooperate with you.
Such sources include elements such as:
* The true name of the supernatural entity.
* Its sigil.
* The current phase of the moon.
* The magical properties of the location or equipment used.
* Astrological influences.
* Knowledge of a proper invocation ritual.
* And so on.

After having pondered the idea for a while, my basic concept for a ceremonial magic system is as follows:
I would appreciate any comment or idea you have about this.
You do not "cast spells." Instead, you invoke supernatural entities and beseech them to grant you certain powers.
These invocations are INCREDIBLY difficult, bordering on the impossible.
To succeed, the magus will need to accumulate bonuses from as many sources as possible.
