Lithuania's national dish: Cepelinai.

These large (usually boiled, sometimes fried) potato dumplings are stuffed with meat or cheese. They're usually served with bacon (or mushrooms) and sour cream.

Throwback to trying as much food as I could while in Lithuania!
1. Fried black garlic bread with cheese (Juoda duona)
2. Cepelinai: a beef stuffed potato accompanied with bacon, dill and sour cream
3. Lithuanian Gira (malt drink) and other sweets 🍬
4. Spurgytes: Fried cheese balls with chocolate and sprinkled sugar

Delicious Lithuanian Cepeliniai, from the Hales Turgus marketplace in Vilnius.

For those who have never had the pleasure of eating one, Cepeliniai are large dumplings that are roughly the same size and shape as an Australian football.

The outer layer is around 1–2cm thick, and made from potato, with roughly the same texture as gnocchi. The inside filling is either seasoned pork, or cheese curds.

It's usually served with sour cream and dill, often with onions and bacon pieces.

Not necessarily the healthiest meal option, but always delicious.
