Im Kontrast zu den unbedingt in die Höhe wollenden Hochhäusern, die sich nicht um den Stadtraum scheren, plötzlich ein großes offenes, aber liegendes elegantes Gebäude mit viel Drive und Quirligkeit, der "Centraal", Rotterdams Entree zur Bahn, grandios innen und außen.
Hier das Eingangsportal, riesig, aber .... nicht pompös, gewaltig, sondern als Stadttorgeste eher einladend, aufrecht gehend hinein oder hinaus zu schreiten, toll!

In contrast to the skyscrapers, which are determined to reach ever higher and couldn’t care less about the urban landscape, there suddenly stands a large, open yet low-slung, elegant building full of dynamism and vibrancy: the “Centraal”, Rotterdam’s gateway to the rail network, magnificent both inside and out.
Here is the entrance portal, huge, but... not pompous or imposing, but rather, as a gesture of the city, inviting you to stride in or out with your head held high – brilliant!
