Are you a municipal leader? Being highly targeted & under-resourced is spooky... but it doesn’t have to be. JOIN Federation of Canadian Municipalities and CIRA this Halloween to learn everything you need to know about strengthening your cyber defences 👉 https://fcm-ca.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZYocO-rqT8tGNHBSm0MaJeiueI0YE0DLPzL#/registration #cyber #cdnmuni
Welcome! You are invited to join a meeting: Cyber risks and municipalities: What leaders need to know / Risques de cybersécurité et municipalités : ce que les élues et élus doivent savoir . After registering, you will receive a confirmation email about joining the meeting.

Municipalities are the first line of service and support for Canadians. However, cybersecurity attacks on local governments continue to make headlines. Municipalities across Canada have transitioned to online services: remote work options, live streamed council meetings, and new digital platforms to manage citizens’ services. But with municipalities being increasingly targeted by ransomware and other sophisticated cyber attacks, municipal data and systems are more vulnerable than ever. Panelists will discuss cyber defences and vulnerabilities for municipalities, AI and emerging cyber threats, what to do in the event of an attack, cost of recovery, legal liability for breaches, awareness training, working with law enforcement, emergency preparedness, IT best practices, and how communities can pool resources to defend their data. This edition of FCM’s Collective Webinar series is presented in collaboration with the Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA).

For duration of his time as "Mayor" of our Amalgamated City of Toronto,

On his lapel above his Heart,

John Tory wore his Order of Ontario Pin.

Unlike all previous Megacity Mayors, Lastman, Miller, & Ford,

Tory chose to NOT wear the Official City of Toronto Pin.

He ALWAYS chose Province First,

City of Toronto Last.
