This is the "abominable" yeti? It seems quite clear where the sympathies of the illustrator lie. Unfortunately, the text does not share such subtleties. #CavernsOfTheSnowWitch starts as a yeti hunt, then turns into a dungeon crawl and finally lets you pay a long march home. There is a good reason for its episodic nature. Of course, I only learned about that decades after first encountering it.

What I really like, once again, is the book's illustrations. It's a totally different style this time around, like woodcut prints. And isn't this just the saddest yeti in history? In a good way.
So far, honestly, I'm not very impressed. The opening about hunting the yeti is not a horrible hook. Though even the first decision is... not very good. Either you walk over a dangerous, crumbling bridge, testing your luck twice, and then face two wolves. Or you face an ultra-dangerous mammoth. Entering the caverns, it all feels quite random. Haven't even made it to the snow witch yet. This book is hard. Not for the right reasons so far.
