I just paid cash directly to a local farmer for food.
Some in Federal Reserve paper bills and some in coin.
Interesting, the coins are not issued by the Federal Reserve, but instead by the US Treasury.
Coins are still fake money, in that they are no longer backed by anything. They are issued by a government institution that is supposed to be "of the people", where the Federal Reserve has no such responsibility.
