So, a rundown on my day...

Dropped the car at the garage.

On pins & needles most of the morning, anxious over what may be required.

Find out it's not that bad, feel fairly silly.

Get the call it's ready.

I spent $150 on Lyft, going to and from the garage. That bites. It's nowhere near home but it's the best garage in town for VWs.

The car needed new brakes and two new tires. The heat has never worked and it turns out the heater core is gummed up with sludge from the coolant tank, which apparently is something that happens with some VWs these days. Meaning it will require flushing from time to time. The bill was fairly reasonable all considered, and I plan to go back for an oil change. They were very pleasant and attentive.

Go home; go to take a "quick nap" and I am HARD ASLEEP like it takes me forever to rouse out of it. I think that was mainly a stress-crash.

Now I'm wobbly, still a bit sleepy, and kinda hungry but no energy to cook. UGH.

I don't seem to be having much luck and I'm doing damage that I was hoping to avoid.

I really do prefer older cars.
