Helmet.

I cast this 1:6 scale F1 helmet in carbon fibre while on a work placement from school.

While we weren't meant to be paid for the work experience placements, I got ~£50 of carbon fibre and free tickets to the practice and qualifying sessions of the Silverstone F1 race.
To think, some kids chose office work...

A few interesting details in this piece on Speedweek about the carbon chassis. KTM (Pierer Mobility Group) learned a lot about carbon with the X-Bow, Freeride, and others.

Also, they were looking at building an alu chassis, but switched to CF instead

Something very different today.

I made this during work experience from school many moons ago.

I placed at a company that made carbon fibre parts for racing cars.
They were located at the Silverstone circuit, and in addition to getting free tickets to the practice sessions of that years F1 race, I also made this wind tunnel test helmet from carbon fibre and got to take it home, for free.
The base is 5x3.5 inches.

And to think, some people placed at office jobs...

Last year, OceanGate CEO Rush told a travel journalist that he had gotten the carbon fibre used to make Titan "at a big discount from Boeing".

He reportedly said he was able to get the carbon fibre at a good rate "because it was past its shelf life for use in airplanes".
