Some drivers seem to hold the opinion that it's "disrespectful" for people on bikes to pass their giant empty box of entitlement and thirty other cars. Anecdotally, 100% of these same drivers regularly violate traffic laws in ways that are dangerous. But disrespectful would be like passing someone on a bike immediately before a stop sign then blocking half of the street while waiting to turn left across heavy traffic, which they also do. #carBrain #carSupremacy

It will take some effort to overthrow #carSupremacy and its buddy #fascism, a little bit of effort from a lot of people. But it's going to take effort to do anything besides being complacent. Walking / running, doing your errands by e-bike, riding the bus, all increase the amount of casual social interaction that's needed to build democracy. Understanding how your city, county, and state governments and budgets work and how much is wasted on car infrastructure, is eye-opening + impactful.

States push to shift road funds to transit and bike projects as Trump threatens cuts
As President Donald Trump's administration seeks to roll back funding for transit, walking and biking projects, some states are trying to advance them on their own. A seven-state group known as the Clean Rides Network gained momentum this year in its advocacy for environmentally friendly transportation projects that it says the federal government has abandoned. Lawmakers in Maryland, Illinois and Massachusetts have introduced proposals this session that would require major highway construction to be offset by other projects that reduce greenhouse emissions. Colorado and Minnesota enacted similar policies in past sessions.
