I dunno how anyone goes into slot canyons in monsoon season (particularly nowadays), but... at least the locals in Utah trying to convince people NOT get themselves in trouble.

"...A California Highway Patrol helicopter was called in to help rescue Wardell from behind the powerful waterfall, using a hoist system where they lowered a rescue team member into the water feature to secure Wardell and extract him to safety.
Wardell, alive and responsive, told deputies he had come off his rappel lines and got trapped behind the waterfall because of the extreme hydraulics of the river...."
