Five minutes into our snowy winter hike, my little guy was already fast asleep, and capturing that moment on camera was the sweetest thing. Sharing nature with him, even in the quiet of winter, means the world to me. 🤍❄️

I’m Canadian and have lived in a few places.

I’m not inexperienced in a wide range of different kinds of precipitation.

But *Weather Canada* what can ever you mean by a forecast of “Periods of snow, Risk of freezing drizzle” when it’s currently -12 C, feeling like -18 C with windchill?

What possible kind of temperature inversion is happening at higher altitudes? Why then does the radar look so benign?

Well, I guess we can look forward to a nice icy crust on top of the 21 cm of snowfall in the past day….

blue water and ice
about 40 mallard ducks
intermingled with at least least a hundred and fifty white swans
spread out in a long line line,
