The #CampCreekFire was announced to finally be 11% contained. ~475 firefighters on the ground. In an hour, we're expecting a thunder/lightning storm. Fingers crossed we get no more fires.

Also, no burn tonight on the playa—as it's now a giant alkali-paste rink. Momma nature is PISSED. I can't blame her.

Question from this morning's #campcreekfire briefing: "Many locations only get cell service through Wi-Fi . If the power is cut off, cellular data won’t work; how will we be notified of evacuations?"

Reminder: Rural communities have much lower access to services. WiFi & Cellular, especially. Tornado sirens NEVER had a problem reaching my house, as a kid. Wishing the West Coast would get with it, and put some of these to work.
