
World War I-era artillery shell detonated by bomb squad after being found at Houston’s Memorial Park
The explosive discovery was made during site preparations for Memorial Groves, a $42 million revitalization project that will pay homage to the park’s origins as Camp Logan. The site served as a U.S. Army training facility between 1917-19, when more than 70,000 soldiers trained there.
