AGI - I quattro "memorabili" giorni della visita di re Carlo III e della regina Camilla a Roma, un anno fa, sono stati immortalati in decine di fotografie in mostra a Villa Wolkonsky, residenza dell'ambasciatore britannico in Italia. 'A Riveder le Stelle', questo il titolo dell'esposizione inaugurata oggi, ripercorre alcuni dei momenti piu' emblematici del viaggio a Roma e Ravenna, compreso lo storico discorso del sovrano alla Camera dei deputati.
Collaborazione proficua con l'Italia
L'iniziativa "nasce da una nostra profonda convinzione: il successo della visita è stato reso possibile dalla collaborazione ampia e proficua con l'Italia", ha dichiarato l'incaricato d'affari dell'ambasciata britannica, David Burton, si legge in una nota. E soprattutto, ha aggiunto, "all'affetto dimostrato dalle istituzioni e dai tantissimi italiani che hanno accolto i sovrani con straordinario calore". Al corrente dell'iniziativa, re Carlo III si è detto "lieto di apprendere di questa mostra fotografica e ha menzionato quanto le loro maestà conservino ricordi tanto affettuosi e speciali della loro visita in Italia, insieme alla successiva visita in Vaticano", riferisce la nota.
La mostra fotografica è arricchita da alcuni contributi come il video-racconto dei quattro giorni e dai videomessaggi di Alberto Angela e Carolyn Smith. Aver fatto da guida a re Carlo è stata "un'enorme emozione, ma anche una grandissima responsabilità", ha sottolineato Angela, "mi ha colpito molto il loro interesse: erano coinvolti, molto interessati. È stata un'esperienza molto bella che non dimenticherò, come non la dimenticherete voi".

The AGI – The four “memorable” days of King Charles III and Queen Camilla’s visit to Rome, a year ago, have been immortalized in dozens of photographs on display at Villa Wolkonsky, the residence of the British Ambassador in Italy. ‘A Riveder le Stelle’ (A Return to the Stars), this is the title of the exhibition inaugurated today, revisits some of the most emblematic moments of the journey to Rome and Ravenna, including the Sovereign’s historic speech to the Chamber of Deputies.
Profitable Collaboration with Italy
The initiative “is born from our deep conviction: the success of the visit was made possible by the broad and profitable collaboration with Italy,” stated the British Embassy’s Trade Commissioner, David Burton, as stated in a note. And above all, he added, “by the affection shown by institutions and by the many Italians who welcomed the Sovereigns with extraordinary warmth.” Aware of the initiative, King Charles III said he was “pleased to learn of this photographic exhibition and mentioned how their Majesties cherish affectionate and special memories of their visit to Italy, together with the subsequent visit to the Vatican,” the note states.
The photographic exhibition is enriched by some contributions such as the video-narrative of the four days and the video messages from Alberto Angela and Carolyn Smith. “Having guided King Charles was ‘an enormous emotion, but also a very great responsibility’,” Angela highlighted, “they were very interested; they were engaged, very interested. It was a very beautiful experience that I will not forget, as you will not.”
