I've had a re-think and I'm currently testing an account with Mailo.

I created a new calendar and imported my Google Calendar - then I did a search for the series of events that Zoho couldn't find and . . .

Success! Mailo listed all those older events!

Another bonus is, it was so easy to add both the emails and calendars to my desktop and phone.

Mailo looks promising so far!

I'm open to recommendations if you have them.

I've gotten vdirsyncer working bidirectionally between #orage and Google Calendars. That's nifty and was "easy" after setting up Google CalDAV API. So that's kinda cool, I guess.

Although, I've also learned this week that:
- Google Calendar will drop and does not support VTODOs
- vdirsyncer is apparently in the process of being deprecated for pimsync 😡 (https://whynothugo.nl/journal/2026/04/09/deprecation-plan-for-vdirsyncer/)
- Neither of these will probably work well with Proton Calendar
- The local TODO app that I like & have been using for the past 3ish weeks (GTG) seems mostly abandoned & sync is borked(possibly due to the VTODO issue?)
- The NextCloud trial instance I'm using doesn't seem to support the QOwnnotesAPI(I've been using QOwnnotes to help organize my .md documents starting this year and was curious about using its TODO functionality).

Seems that I've just made some poor lifestyle choices.... 🤣

Fossify Kalender scheint auf meinem Android nicht zuverlässig zu synchronisieren.
Gibt es da was besseres, dass CalDav kann?
Also ich nutze zusätzlich DAVx5.

Mir werden aber zum Beispiel gerade aus einem Schreibgeschützten Kalender nur Termine bis Mtte Juli angezeigt, während in Betterbird (am PC) die termine bis Anfange September lesbar sind.

It's back to Google Calendar! 🙄

A few months ago, I exported all my calendars/events from Google Calendar to Zoho Calendar.

Today, wanting to search for a series of older events from previous years - Zoho reported no results! 🤔

Upon checking in my still existing Google Calendar, all those events were there since 2019. 👍

I'll have to have a re-think on this one! 🤔

@kevinbowen Did I miss anything? Do you prefer a Google Calendar!? 😅 #CalDAV might be a bit quirky old, but there are very many CalDAV integrations, servers and libraries out there, so I find it very well interoperable. 🤔

@fumbus geht eigentlich ganz easy wenn man nicht allzu sehr auf die gewohnte Umgebung festgelegt ist und offen Neuem gegenüber. UND: Mailclients belegen oft einen Großteil der Daten auf der Festplatte. Aus diesem Grund nutze ich schon seit vielen Jahren ausschließlich den Webmailer den jeder Anbieter anbietet. Das spart die Installation von zusätzlicher #software #Kalender und #Adressbuch ist ja z.B. schon meist dabei. #Linux #Mint und lässt sich über #Caldav ganz fein abgleichen.
