After Donaueschingen I went to Villingen. The intention was to take the #train to Freiburg on the Höllentalbahn. The weather forecast threatened me with rain, so I had “Deutsches Frühstuck” (German breakfast) while the weather was nice. But no rain came, and the sky was blue in the direction of Konstanz so I went there, had some #cake and went back.

When I got to Trier, the next #train alternative was the “Eifel-Express” going north to Gerolstein in the “Vulkan-Eifel” region. Sadly, no smoking mountains or rivers of lava. This is the “no” in “volcano” #disappoint
But there was “Vulkan-Torte” 🌋
The other train alternative (for me) from Trier would have been towards Saarbrücken.

Second breakfast near Hamburg Hbf while waiting for the next train. Decent #coffee - considering that I’m in Germany 😅 The night train from and to Switzerland match the connections to Denmark and Sweden better, but the mini cabins are not running on that line (yet?).
