A new by-law comes into effect as of tomorrow, banning #campfires and the use of disposable barbecues within the #Cairngorms National Park in #Scotland between April 1st and September 30th each year. Violations are subject to fines of up to £500.

This by-law comes in the wake of the UK’s largest #wildfire on record, which ripped through parts of the north east last year.

The Herald is reporting that fires and barbecues will be banned in the Cairngorms.During the summer anyway. About time too.
