How can I make coffee taste as good as the grounds smell?
Is it the brewing method?
My #frenchpress seems to have developed a tiny hole somewhere in its dual wall, so every time I pour hot water into it it starts making a horrible fizzing sound as the hot air escapes. I can't see the hole as it's far too small, but it's really annoying me. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good small/single-cup one? All the good ones I've found are 1ltr, which is far too big for just me. I think my current one is ~300ml maybe.
My cafetiere also functions as a lovely teapot for leaf tea.
Plus de café, juste de la lumière

@SaltyJC Yes! I have for a long time. Defo get one!
For #FrenchPress, I actually prefer 'medium'-grind (prob what you mean by 'regular'?) not coarse.
Also, I've discovered medium-grind is, interestingly, closer to what's used in a #cafetiere (aka French Press) to yield more-traditional results. So you won't be alone!
Finer grind yields more-potent #coffee ~ just stay curious re: finding a taste that suits you!
Hope that helps, & feel free to ask more if needed! Cafetiere coffee is great ☕
@bookishthingsforreaders My coffee costs £1 per litre ...
Beans are £12 to £15 per kilo
Second hand 1970s stovetop percolator from free to £20 or a modern #cafetiere around the same
Second hand good bean grinder ~£20
10 minutes to make and if travelling I fill a thermos, holding the same as 3 large black coffees
With coffee at £3+ per cup, you would save £20 a week!
Plus, honestly, my #coffee is less bitter and a fresher higher quality grind than from local cafés
