This was the entryway for the attackers who breached the wooden part of the barricade.

A statue to a fallen soldier has itself fallen. But it has not been forgotten; someone has set up a shrine with the head, and a barricade to protect themselves.
However, all has not gone well. The barricade has been breached and all that remains of the occupant is a splatter of blood.
