El presidente ruso, Vladimir Putin, ha dicho este domingo que trabajó ocasionalmente como taxista tras la caída de la Unión Soviética (URSS) hace ahora 30 años. "A veces tenía que ganar dinero extra", ha dicho Putin, según informa la agencia AFP. "Quiero decir, ganar dinero extra en coche, como conductor privado. Es desagradable hablar de ello, para ser sincero, pero, por desgracia, fue así". Los comentarios, recogidos por la agencia estatal de noticias RIA Novosti este domingo, son extractos de una película, que se estrenará próximamente, de la cadena Channel One titulada Rusia. Historia reciente. Durante la entrevista con la cadena estatal, el presidente ha calificado como una "tragedia" la disolución de la Unión Soviética. "(Para mí) al igual que para la mayoría de los ciudadanos, fue una tragedia", ha dicho el líder ruso. "¿Qué significó la disolución de la URSS? Significó la desaparición de la Rusia histórica bajo el nombre de la URSS". "Nos convertimos en un país completamente diferente. Y lo que se había construido a lo largo de 1.000 años se perdió en gran medida", ha dicho Putin, que ha afirmado que 25 millones de rusos en los nuevos países independientes se encontraron de repente aislados de Rusia, parte de lo que ha llamado "una gran tragedia humanitaria", según informa Reuters. Acusado de querer resucitar la URSS Esta no es la primera vez que el presidente califica como una tragedia la caída del bloque soviético. En 2005, cinco años después de llegar al poder en Rusia, Putin dijo que la caída de la Unión Soviética fue la "mayor tragedia geopolítica del siglo XX". A la vez, el líder ruso también ha señalado en varias ocasiones que resucitar la URSS "es imposible y carece de sentido". Esta semana el Kremlin ha rechazado las acusaciones de Estados Unidos sobre los supuestos planes de revivir la URSS después de que lo sugiriera la subsecretaria de Estado de Estados Unidos para Asuntos Políticos, Victoria Nuland. Nuland opinó previamente que el líder ruso está tratando de recrear la Unión Soviética como parte de su legado y advirtió a Moscú contra un eventual ataque a Ucrania. "Y luego, ¿quién sabe si su apetito se satisfará con lo que ha comido o decidirá ir más allá?", dijo en una audiencia en el Senado en la que habló del resultado de la cumbre virtual entre los presidentes de Rusia y Estados Unidos, celebrada el martes pasado.
