I really appreciated district mayor Clara Herrmann’s speech emphasizing we were already part of the community and considered us Friedrichshainers and Kreuzbergers regardless of citizenship, and welcoming us as new Germans. Taina Gärtner of the district parliament (#BVVXhain) also spoke, and a student jazz group from the Volkshochschule played music! There was coffee and cake, and a cute tote bag <3.

Really addressing issues that affect us all: the difficulty of getting city hall appointments needed to register your address when moving, getting IDs & passports. Last week there was a no-appt-needed day the district took part in. Seemed to work out & they’ll analyze the experiment. /21 #bvvxhain

I’m running out of steam, but the FDP has a question on the state of & renovation of school toilets. Everyone knows I love infrastructure! Schools are maintained holistically; in the financial situation, no money for specific toilet refurbs. Seems the only recent one was in my hood! 18/ #bvvxhain
