Coding seems to become an AI thing more and more. The European options we have: - Mistral [https://mistral.ai/] is special because they are the only EU company which directly competes with OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, etc. - Open-Weight Hosting is the alternative where (mostly Chinese) models are hosted on EU hardware - OVH [https://www.ovhcloud.com/de/public-cloud/ai-endpoints/] - IONOS [https://cloud.ionos.com/managed/ai-model-hub] - AKI.IO [https://aki.io/] - LLMBase [https://llmbase.ai/] - Langdock [https://langdock.com/] I have not checked benchmarks yet, but the sentiment seems to be that some Chinese models (e.g. Kimi K2.5/2.6) are relatively close to the top models like Opus or Codex. Did I miss any provider?

Hi, for those who have Kindle at home and don’t want to use Amazon’s Infrastructure I prepared this blog post which describes how to jailbreak your Kindle and install open-source software on it :) After you are done you will: * have KOReader installed * be able to load epub books into the Kindle via email * create epub books from browser tabs Post here: Kindle Jailbreak [https://blog.sivak.eu/en/20260421-kindle-jailbreak] I believe that if you already have Kindle laying around it could be beneficial to use it without Amazon software instead of buying Kobo/another alternatives. Or course - don’t buy a brand new Kindle just to do the jailbreak, you can invest your money to a different company

I am all for #BuyFromEU and trying to incorporate as much of EU-made software into my work as possible, yet I've got to admit: for my browser setup, I still roll with #Firefox with uBlock Origin.

It's like Mac and Cheese, wine and olives, white socks and sandals — a truly universal combo.
