On 12 November 1988, the world’s first commercial bungee jumping site was opened near Queenstown, New Zealand.
Bungee cord shelf... I'm thinking there's non-zero chance this guy's little kid gets entangled in that while attempting to use the bungee shelf as a ladder. 🤔
Hmm, I could set up my own bungee exercise setup in the backyard.
Hmm, well, if I can't use them for tying things down because they're not safe, perhaps I can make the remaining bungee cord into a catapult.
The sprint car driver I follow out of Jacksonville, Oregon, Tanner Holmes, is currently in New Zealand racing over there. In between race days, the local hosts are showing him the most exhilarating attractions of the South Island.
Tanner posted this on Facebook. They went Bungee jumping, and, I dunno, I think they are cutting it sorta close here. If this is the very bottom of the ride, his hands are literally IN THE RIVER. Another foot and he'd be dunked.
Why I do not #Bungee Jump.
Have been wondering why people have been willfully emulating sheep voting for wolves.
"There is a surprisingly common affective disorder known as the “high places phenomenon”, which is the irrational impulse to jump when on top of a tall building or precipice or suchlike, despite having absolutely no urge to die"
"It is sometimes known as the “call of the void” "(Marina Hyde, The Guardian)
